# Reporting.ErrorDetail

`ErrorDetail` is an immutable message-plus-optional-exception container used by `Reporting.ReportBase` to collect non-fatal errors encountered during `Create`, `Render`, `Print`, `Distribute`, and `Save` operations, instead of allowing exceptions to propagate directly to the caller.

## Purpose
- Record a human-readable message and, when available, the underlying `Exception` for a failure encountered during report generation, so callers can inspect `ReportBase.Errors` after a `False`/failed result.*

## Context
- Namespace: `SAIF.Services.Printing.Reporting`
- Assembly/package: `SAIF.Services.Printing` (embedded, front-end referenced)

## Public members
| Member | Signature | Purpose |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `New(message)` | `Public Sub New(message As String)` | Creates an error entry with only a message, no associated exception. |
| `New(message, ex)` | `Public Sub New(message As String, ex As Exception)` | Creates an error entry carrying both a message and the exception that caused it. |
| `Message` | `Public ReadOnly Property Message As String` | The human-readable description of the error condition. |
| `Exception` | `Public ReadOnly Property Exception As Exception` | The exception that was caught when this error was recorded, or `Nothing` if none was supplied. |

## Behavioral notes
- Instances of this type are appended to `ReportBase.Errors` whenever an operation catches an exception internally rather than allowing it to propagate.*

## Constraints and usage notes
- This type is immutable; both properties are set only via the constructor.

> **Note:** Statements marked with * were inferred from code structure, naming conventions, or
> contextual evidence where direct confirmation was not available in source artifacts.
